Character Information
Character Name: “Fix-it” Felix Jr.
Fandom: Wreck it Ralph
Source: Here
Character History:
Felix comes from the game Fix-It Felix Jr. In the game, he is considered the ‘good guy’. Players control his avatar in order to fix the Niceland Apartment building, in which the ‘bad guy’, Wreck it Ralph, destroys in a fit of rage. He can fix anything with his golden hammer. Once the player completes the game, Felix is rewarded with a medal while Ralph is thrown off the building and into some mud.
All that is known about Felix’s back story is that he inherited the magical golden hammer from his father. He’s really the maintenance man of the entire game he’s in. However, inside the game there is much more to it than what’s on the screen that players look at.
Inside the Niceland Apartments, the patrons of the building adored Felix. They offered him pies in return for a good day’s work of fixing, as well as pats on the back. Felix usually takes this all in modestly, not wanting to become too egotistical. But the Nicelanders insisted. They threw a 30th year anniversary for their game, but mostly in Felix’s name. While Felix was flattered by it all, Ralph was not. He was furious. And he was sick of being the bad guy. After a fight with Gene, one of the patrons of the building, Ralph stormed off to renounce his ‘bad guy’ title by winning a medal. Felix didn’t pay too much mind to the outburst, but found it curious that Ralph was acting rather “squirrely”, as he put it.
The next day, the arcade opened up, and it was game on! But when Fix it Felix Jr. was started up by a player, Ralph was nowhere to be found in the game. Mr. Litwak, the arcade owner, saw this malfunction of sorts, especially seeing the characters on the screen flailing around, and decided to put the game as OUT OF ORDER.
Horrified, Felix and the Nicelanders looked on as the OUT OF ORDER sign was taped onto their game. Before they could worry any further, Q*bert, from an unplugged arcade game, rolled into Fix it Felix. He spoke with Felix, saying that Ralph had ‘game-jumped’ to Hero’s Duty. In other words, he had gone ‘Turbo’.
Going Turbo actually comes from an incident that happened in the 1980s. Turbo Time was one of the best games at the arcade, and it was very popular in its time. Turbo was the main character of the series. Things were great until a game called ‘Road Blasters’ was plugged in. It was a racing game just like Turbo Time, but with better graphics. This made Turbo jealous and he game jumped into Road Blasters, abandoning his own video game. Players would see Turbo ride across the screen of Road Blasters, causing it to glitch. Thus Road Blasters and Turbo Time were both unplugged.
Hearing as how Ralph went to Hero’s Duty, Felix made it his mission to get him back to his game. When the Arcade closed, he went to Hero’s Duty. Upon his arrival, he was greeted with gunshots and a swift kick to the gut from Sergeant Tamora Calhoun, a main character in the game. After getting over her high definition face, Felix explained his situation. He explained that he heard Ralph came into the game. Calhoun denied it, saying nothing ever came past her. That was until Felix and Calhoun were startled by a sound that game from the tower in the game.
Within it, Ralph had gotten the medal he had wanted, only to run into some trouble along the way. He fell into an escape pod and rushed straight out Hero’s Duty, with Felix and Calhoun staring in horror as Ralph, and a Cy Bug, the game’s main enemy, flew into Game Central, where all the games are plugged into. His ship crash landed into Sugar Rush.
Felix and Calhoun made their way into Sugar Rush, but before they did, Felix learned about Calhoun’s tragic back story. Felix took it into consideration before he insisted that he go with Calhoun into Sugar Rush, to save the game from being eaten by Cy Bugs and to save Ralph. After all, it was his job to fix whatever Ralph wrecks. Calhoun agrees to let Felix come with her and they ride into Sugar Rush on her cruiser.
As they seek out the Cy Bug, Felix explains to her about what ‘going Turbo’ meant, going into the story of how Turbo game jumped. As they still explored the land of Sugar Rush, the two of them fell into a pit of Nesquicksand. Unable to escape, Felix started to panic, thrashing about in the quicksand-like substance. Calhoun tried to calm him down, but only ended up smacking him across the face with a punch. That only caused some laffy taffy from above to come down closer to the pair. Felix insisted that he punch her again and again, only to fix himself with his trusty hammer. And once the taffy was close enough, Felix pulled the two of them to safety.
After fixing Ralph’s broken spaceship, the two of them went flying over Sugar Rush, trying to find the wrecker. As they did, Felix expressed his feelings to Calhoun. Having flashbacks to her and her fiancé, she demanded that Felix exit the ship. Unsure about the sudden outburst, Felix reluctantly exited the ship, before Calhoun flew off to find the Cy Bug.
Having his feelings rebuffed, Felix set out for King Candy’s castle. When asking for Ralph, he ended up being locked away in the Fungeon of the palace. Yes. The Fungeon. Luckily, Ralph came to his rescue, asking for Felix’s help to fix Vanellope’s kart. Felix refused at first, having explained his situation, and how he was treated like a criminal. But Ralph pointed out he was treated that way for the last 30 years. Felix, having felt bad for Ralph, he agreed to help him and his friend.
When they raced in to help Vanellope to win the race of Sugar Rush, the Cy Bugs attacked the finish line. Luckily, Calhoun came in to help, having warned Ralph and Felix about it. Felix did his best to fend them off alongside Ralph and Calhoun. During all the chaos, they looked up to the jumbo-tron to see that King Candy was actually Turbo. The Cy Bugs started to take over the game, and overwhelmed by them all, Felix and the others fled for the gate back to Game Central Station. There was no way to get rid of the Cy Bugs unless there was a beacon. Ralph got an idea and raced off to go to Diet Cola Mountain, to create a beacon. Vanellope reached out to stop Ralph, but Felix pulled her back as the Cy Bugs advanced towards them, trying to keep her safe.
The group looked on in horror as Ralph fought with the virus infected King Candy above Diet Cola Mountain. The Cy Bugs were closing in on them. Ralph fell down towards the top of the mountain, breaking apart the mentos to make the beacons. Just before he fell to his death, Vanellope, using her glitch power, saved him from being destroyed by the explosion within the mountain. The beacon went off, and all the Cy Bugs, including King Candy, were destroyed in it. Felix cheered out for his friends and in a rush of passion, he hopped up to kiss Calhoun on the cheek. To his surprise, Calhoun tugged him up for a proper kiss, which the two of them shared.
After fixing the finish line, Vanellope was able to reset the game, returning it all to normal. The Arcade was about to open, and Calhoun, Felix and Ralph returned back to their respective games. After some time, Calhoun and Felix got married and in Fix it Felix Jr., Ralph and the Nicelanders came to terms with one another to live equally with one another.
Character Personality:
Felix is kind, loveable, and is nice to anyone he meets. Yes, that even means the bad guys of the world. For example, in the movie, Felix is actually sympathetic towards Ralph in the beginning. He’s never truly mean to him, and he even tries to make up for it by offering him a slice of cake. But that was until the NIcelanders got into an argument with the wrecker. Felix insisted that they should forget the fight and just “eat the cake”. But the Nicelanders continued to argue with Ralph, and Ralph in turn. He makes an attempt to make everyone happy, but is often talked over by others, like in this situation.
However, when he’s buttons are pushed, you better watch out! Well, not really in this case. If anything, his anger gets as hot as a strong simmer. He never swears, nor does he want to come off as mean, often using the phrases of “Oh my land!” “I’m so cross with you!” or “I don’t have to do boo!” Another thing to keep in mind is that he was created in the 1980s, where cursing wasn’t very common in videogames at that time. And that has stuck with him for more than 30 years, and he won’t be breaking that habit anytime soon.
At the beginning of the movie, is often given praise and compliments for fixing the Nicelander’s broken windows. While he takes this all in, he doesn’t do it very egotistically. He takes it all in with a smile and a simple thank you or two. He never tries to be the top dog, and while the Nicelanders may look up to Felix for leadership, he tries his best to fix things to the best of his ability.
When someone is truly in danger, or if they’re heading into danger, Felix will insist to go with them. This was apparent when he insisted to Sergeant Calhoun that he come with her to Sugar Rush. They were both putting themselves at risk by going to a game outside their own. If they were to die they, they would never regenerate again. It was up to Felix to fix what Ralph wrecks. Plus, he was at equal risk, going into this, just like Tamora was. Not only that, but he was also very protective of Vanellope when face to face with the Cy Bugs near the end of the movie. He held her close, while standing behind Tamora. He made sure she was safe with them, and held onto her hand for reassurance, since Ralph wasn’t there to take care of her himself at the time.
There is only one moment in which Felix is a puddle of emotional goo. And that’s when he talks about Sergeant Tamora Calhoun. He gushes over her in a dreamy fashion, idolizing her in her beauty and her smarts, often calling her a “dynamite gale”. In the point I’m taking him from, they are fresh newlyweds!
Powers and Abilities:
Golden Hammer:
His golden hammer is capable of fixing and or improving things. As long as you have all the pieces to anything that is broken, this hammer can fix it. Obviously, when he first arrives in the City, it will be rendered obsolete until he can bend it to work.
Super Hopping:
He has to get to those high windowsills somehow! Felix is an excellent jumper, jumping high distances to reach things just like windows. And he jump in succession pretty fast as well.

Network:
[The video feed flickers on, and it looks to be a worried individual on the other end. He looks around before addressing the communicator.]
Ralph? T-Tamora? Are you guys getting this at all? Oh my land. Did I drink too much at Tappers again? I don’t… [He furrows his brow and looks around again before he whispers into the communicator.] Some of these NPCs look displaced, or something… I don’t recognize them.
B-But if anyone else gets this I’m not so sure how these things work half of the time, could anyone help me out? My name is Fix it Felix Jr. and I need to get back to my game, Fix it Felix Jr. before the arcade opens back up tomorrow morning! I wouldn’t want to be the reason why my game goes out of order. And I don’t want my wife getting worried about little ol’ me. When she gets worried or upset… [He shudders.]
But if anyone knows how to get back to Game Central Station, it’d be a big help! Thank you! [He nods with a smile and the feed cuts out.]
Third Person:
Felix got things ready. He smiled widely as he looked at the cake, the corner of is eyes wrinkling with the smile he had on his face. Green and black colors. The perfect colors for this cake, he thought as he adjusted the little figures atop the cake. He stepped off the stepstool he was on and took a few steps back to look at the work. His chest swelled with pride before he looked to Diana beside him.
“This looks great!” Felix claimed, clapping an approving hand on the Nicelander’s shoulder. “And it’s got her favorite flavor right?” Diana nodded in reply, smiling sweetly. “Great! Let’s hope she likes it. I know I do!” he said giddily, wringing his hands together excitedly.
His blue eyes jolt to the side, glancing to the clock. It was just about time! And she was always on time. Felix wheeled out the cake carefully into the penthouse party room. He saw that everyone was ready. The soldiers in their finest attire as well as the Nicelanders, Vanellope, and even Ralph was dressed up! Once the cake was rolled out and set on the table, he looked to everyone, clasping his hands together.
“I’d like to thank everyone for coming. I know this’ll just knock her boots right off!” Felix said with a grin, grasping his fingers in a balled up fist of encouragement. He perked up, hearing a familiar ‘Booping’ sound.
“*$!”
Felix turned to see Q*bert hopping inside hurriedly. That was is queue! Felix rushed over to turn off the light to the penthouse. Everyone quieted down and all eyes were glued on the door as a figure was seen behind the semi-transparent door. And once the doors opened up, Felix flicked the lights on as everyone shouted.
“Surprise!”
Felix jumped out with a rose in hand, holding it out to his dumfounded wife, who was looking around at everyone. The handyman grinned and gestured to the cake. Atop it was the logo of HERO’S DUTY, and the words “HAPPY ONE MONTH ANNIVERSARY”. Felix looked up at his wife, taking off his hat, jumping up to her height to give her a kiss on the cheek.
“Congratulations on being plugged in for a month!” Felix said excitedly as he placed his hat back atop his head, smiling from ear to ear so hard that his cheeks hurt. “Here’s to many more months ahead, Sergeant Tamora Calhoun!”
